About Joaquim Quintino-Aires

Prof. Quintino Aires, Founder of the Vygotskiy Institute, Clinical psychologist, professor of the New University of Lisbon (Portugal), Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist, worked at the Military Hospital of Lisbon (Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery) and currently at the Institute Vegotsky. He wrote seven books, published in several countries, and dozens of chapters and scientific articles. He held conferences, seminars and short courses in more than 40 countries. There are about twenty years he works weekly on television, on topics related to psychology and healthy human development.

Instituto Vegotsky de Lisboa (Vygotstky Lisbon Institute). Since 1996, the first Portuguese institute dedicated to professional training of psychologists. Besides it is the largest service of clinical psychology, neuropsychology and psychotherapy in the country, the institute assumes the psychological work in many public schools and prisons. It is a reference in the historical cultural approach, so their professors collaborate in the development of doctoral theses of students from various universities. Since 2001 extended its collaboration to other Portuguese-speaking countries, such as Brazil (South America) and Angola (Africa).
