Welcome to the Congress
Dear colleagues,
Dear Congress Participants,
What is "norm"? How to define the concept of "mental health" and does a wholly psychological "norm" exist at all? In modern living conditions, the term "mental health" is becoming increasingly important. In the 21st century, a person's life is influenced by many factors: the rapid development of scientific and technical sector, the industrial area, medical technology and pharmacology, social stratification of society, urbanization, information overload. The list is far from complete. The pace of modern life often increases tension in people, influences their deep psychological mechanisms. This results in favorable conditions for the development of all kinds of psychological pathologies.
Psychology is a forward-looking science that allows both to subject behavioral habits, basic settings, nuances of an individual’s character comprehensive analysis, and to describe and explain the social processes in general. It can detect and reveal psychological problems both in an individual and in society, as well as offer a solution to them and provide a forecast for the future.
I am happy to be able to welcome the participants of the Congress on Mental Health: Meeting the Needs of the XXI Century in Moscow. I believe that in the course of a fruitful dialogue and professional discussion we will be able to delve considerably into the study of scientific processes and practical solutions in the field of mental health.
See you soon!
