Biennial Film Competition DOCU-MENTAL

Elena Pogrebizhskaya, a member of the jury of the III Mental Health Films Competition DOCU-MENTAL, is a Russian journalist, director and screenwriter of documentary films, a member of the Academy of Russian Television.


One of her recent films is the short film "The 10 Percent". The film is available for viewing on the Rain TV website. “10 percent” is the story of a graduate of the orphanage, and subsequently of a neuropsychiatric boarding school, Galina Zernova, who was able to achieve independence and fulfill herself. Now Elena Pogrebizhskaya is working on a full-length project about Galina.

About the III Biennial Film Competition DOCU-MENTAL: The Union for Mental Health of Russia in cooperation with on-line platform PILIGRIM and CoolConnections are holding the III Biennial Film Competition Docu-MENTAL. Docu-MENTAL is dedicated to people with mental health conditions. It will be held under the III Congress on Mental Health: Meeting the Needs of the XXI Century (25-28 June 2020, Moscow). 


The competition is accepting fiction and documentary short films till 15th March 2020. The application should include a link to the film with English or Russian subtitles (preferably YouTube/Vimeo or another file sharing service). Please, submit an application by clicking the link, in the ‘Movie Name’ field, please add the word ‘Docu-Mental’ through a hyphen:


The III Biennial Film Competition DOCU-MENTAL awards:

The main prize — 200,000 rubles

Second prize — 150,000 rubles

Third prize — 100,000 rubles

The winners will be invited also to the Award Ceremony to be held on 25th June 2020 in the Illusion Cinema, Moscow, Russia.
